Rebellion and Fuse Powered bring top-down undead shooter Zombie HQ to iPhone and iPad

Publisher Fuse Powered and UK-based developer Rebellion have collaborated on a new free-to-play iPhone and iPad title called Zombie HQ.

In this undead-filled experience, you're tasked with fending off hordes of flesh-eaters, rescuing any survivors you happen to cross paths with, and, strangely, pimping your "ultimate man-cave" in a Cribs-esque fashion.

"Zombie HQ, with its twist on zombie warfare and tongue-in-cheek humor, will provide players with hours of entertainment," Jon Walsh, Fuse Powered's CEO, said.

"The mix of RPG, shooter and building aspects of the game create a unique experience for players, and combined with the humor and extensive customization features, make Zombie HQ an amusing adventure."

On the hunt

There are three different maps to explore and 18 different missions to undertake in this top-down shooter, including scavenger hunts, food drops, and boss battles.

As you complete these missions, you'll level-up your character and increase his attributes, and gain access to shotguns, assault rifles, sniper rifles, machine guns, and flamethrowers.

You can download Zombie HQ for free right now.

20 social networking tips for web designers | Feature | .net magazine

Zeke Camusio, CEO of The Outsourcing Company, offers his advice on building your personal brand online with the help of LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook

The goal for any business person jumping into social media marketing is not to add friends and swap stories and pictures, but rather, to make new business connections.?

As soon as you start networking, you increase your chances of reaching new customers. However, be prepared to work at it. Here I?ll give you some simple but effective tips for the three big ones, LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook, to help you reach new customers, promote your business and drive traffic to your website.

');

LinkedIn

1. Complete your profile

Your profile information may be indexed by search engines. LinkedIn profiles receive a pretty high rank in Google. So instead of using the default URL, customise your own by using your company?s name or use keyword-rich terms that describe your web design business.

Update your status and post automatically to Twitter. Add links to your website or blog
Update your status and post automatically to Twitter. Add links to your website or blog

2. Use the search feature

One of the most effective things you can do is to use the search feature.?

Search for web design groups and join them. Search for the people that are important to your industry (influencers) and ask to connect with them. Search for your competition to keep tabs on what they are up to.

3. Join design groups

Join as many design groups as you can and start commenting and posting. There?s a section just for answering questions. Use it to make yourself indispensible. Post helpful answers or pose interesting questions and over time you?ll develop a reputation for knowing your stuff.

Post helpful answers or interesting questions on design groups and develop a reputation among your peers

4. Use apps and features

Use Creative Portfolio Display to showcase your portfolio. Go to the LinkedIn Applications page for more ideas.

5. Facilitate introductions

You can ask people you already know to introduce you to someone you?d like to know. This increases your credibility and improves your chances of getting connected to influencers.

6. Show recommendations

Ask people you?ve done business with to recommend your services or products.

Twitter

Twitter is a powerful micro-blogging platform. If you know how the community works, you can leverage your marketing power.

7. Complete your profile

Fill in all the fields (both required and optional) and include your website URL. You can also personalise your Twitter page to match your company?s branding. Be creative.

Don?t neglect your Twitter profile ? it?s your chance to make an elevator pitch for yourself
Don?t neglect your Twitter profile ? it?s your chance to make an elevator pitch for yourself

8. Understand the dynamics of Twitter

Twitter is a social tool, not a classifieds site. These are some tips that will help you to get followers:

  • Don?t spam others about your specials
  • Follow other users
  • Be active in the community (tweet and post comments about others? tweets often)
  • Only post useful and relevant information
  • Don?t tweet every 5 minutes. It becomes annoying
  • Engage in conversations. Retweet (reply to others? tweets) often
  • Don?t promote your company directly. Just be helpful. Tweet useful information, such as great web design tips
  • Don?t overuse hashtags

9. Build your followers base

There are many things that you can do to build your followers base:

  • Every time you post on your blog, invite people to follow you on Twitter
  • Search for Twitter users whose followers base you would love to have for yourself. See who is following them and follow those users. They will follow you back
  • See who is following your friends and follow them
  • There are Twitter directories like Twellow to find members who are likely to follow you
  • Use Twitter?s search feature to find profiles that interest you. Use Twitter?s RSS feed to be notified every time a tweet containing a certain keyword is made

10. Balance your followers/following ratio

Try to have a balance between people you follow and people that follow you. If a lot of people follow you and you don?t follow them, they will stop following you. If you are following plenty of people but just a few are following you, you?ll be seen as a spammer.

These are some ideas to keep both numbers balanced:

  • Grow slow. Instead of instantly adding 200 new friends, add maybe 50 and wait for them to follow you back. Then follow another 50
  • Use tools like Friend or Follow where you can check who is following you whom you are not following. It also allows you to see who is not following you back. It?s a great way to balance your ratio in just a few minutes

11. Make it worthwhile to follow you

Tweet interesting stuff. If your post is not something you would be interested in, chances are that your followers will feel the same way.

Facebook

Like other social media tools, Facebook takes time and effort to master the features and understand the community. Facebook is about connecting with people rather than selling your business.?

12. Put together a killer profile page

Create a profile page that will look attractive to your customers or business contacts. A simple and effective page is the most powerful. You should provide enough information to pique the interest of your target market, and your profile page should be created with this goal in mind.??? Take full advantage of all the new Timeline features.

13. Create a killer cover photo

Use your design skills to create a cover photo that promotes you and your brand. Be creative and stay within Facebook guidelines. This is the first image that people see so make it fun or cool or interesting.

14. Share videos and images

Facebook puts emphasis on visual content and people are more likely to share videos and images than static posts or links. Take advantage of this and post your best design work. Post more visual content such as infographics, charts, photos, etc.

15. Pin to the top

Pin important posts to stay at the top of your timeline. You can pin one post at a time for up to seven days. Remember to update your anchor pin every seven days. You can also highlight posts to give specific items more real estate on your timeline.

16. Hone your About section

Create a keyword rich About section with a hyperlink to your website.

If people have taken the trouble to click through to your About page, make sure you grab their attention
If people have taken the trouble to click through to your About page, make sure you grab their attention

17. Promote your blog

If you have a personal company or business blog, you can import it into your Facebook notes. Each of your blog postings will then appear in your news feed and that of your contacts. This is a fantastic way to keep your business contacts up to date with your blog.

18. Use interest lists

Create interest lists in your niche, and include your brand in them to increase exposure.

19. Utilise milestones

Fill in Milestones to update fans on your accomplishments. Milestones are where you can tell your story. This is a great opportunity to add important design moments in your company.

20. Check Insights

Pay attention to your metrics on Insights. You can use this information to figure out when the best time to post is and see what content gets the most interactions.

Clearly, social media marketing takes time and effort. Spark conversations, share information, be helpful. Doing these things can lead to new connections for your business.

THE SOFT MACHINE Third music review by smartpatrol

4 stars After a few weeks of putting it off, I listened to Third, my first Soft Machine album. These guys have taken jazz fusion and canterbury, fused them together, and contorted, twisted, and bent them into this wild hot pot of psychedellic jazz (I'm getting very creative on the adjetives this time). The 80 minutes that I spent with the album were very exciting and interesting. My only grief with the album is the third track, "Moon in June", the only album with vocals, which are delivered by the band's drummer, Robert Wyatt. Now, he has a fine voice, and I enjoyed his preformance, however, it completely threw me off. It just seemed out of place. But, anyway, great album. If you like jazz fusion and/or psychedellic rock, I'd give it a listen. 3.5/5

Facebook, LinkedIn pledge more privacy, says watchdog

4 hrs.

Technology groups Facebook and LinkedIn have agreed to beef up their international privacy and compliance teams in response to demands from the Irish regulator, the deputy Data Protection Commissioner told Reuters.?

Recent high-profile data lapses, such as LinkedIn's security breach that exposed millions of user passwords, have highlighted the difficulties for web giants and regulators alike of protecting consumer data.

Some of the world's major tech players, including Google, have moved to set up their international or European headquarters in business-friendly Ireland in recent years.

Facebook's Ireland office, with approximately 400 employees, handles all its users outside the United States and Canada. The group has over 900 million users, most of them outside of North America.

Facebook, the world's largest social network, agreed at the end of December to overhaul privacy protection for users outside North America after the Irish regulator found its policies were overly complex and lacked transparency.

"They're beefing up their privacy functions in Ireland by bringing in people who've taken a lead in the U.S.," Gary Davies, Deputy Data Protection Commissioner (DPC), told Reuters.

LinkedIn, an employment and professional networking site with more than 160 million members, said it is bulking out its privacy team, with the appointment of a key executive at its Dublin headquarters.

"We are putting additional privacy resources in Ireland and moving one of our key directors to our International HQ in Dublin," a spokeswoman at LinkedIn told Reuters via email.

Davies confirmed that the DPC is currently investigating the LinkedIn security breach.

The Irish regulator will revisit Facebook's offices on July 10 to re-audit and will publish its report in September or October, said Davies.

Facebook, whose shares slid after its recent $16 billion IPO, said it had agreed to a six-month progress review in July.?

"Facebook has cooperated with the DPC throughout the review process and we look forward to updating them fully over the coming weeks," a spokesman at Facebook said, declining to comment on the enlargement of its privacy team.?

Data blunder
Data protection laws are under review in Europe amid rapid change in how people use the Internet and as services such as cloud computing - allowing data to be stored on distant servers to be accessed anywhere - become mainstream for business.

Google was scheduled to meet with France's data protection watchdog in June to answer questions about its new user privacy policy as part of a Europe-wide investigation being led by the French regulator.?

As most large U.S. tech companies have a substantial or lead European presence in Ireland, other tech companies such as Apple, Microsoft, and Twitter can also be expected to be examining designating Ireland as their European data protection regulator, said Davies.

The number of investigations opened by the Irish regulator in 2011 was double what it had been five years previously.?

LinkedIn will be subject to a routine audit over the next 12 months to check compliance with European Union data protection law, said Davies.

Colorado wildfire expands viciously, Obama plans visit

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Reuters) - Firefighters struggled on Wednesday to beat back a wildfire raging at the edge of Colorado Springs that doubled in size overnight, forced more than 32,000 people from their homes and was nipping at the edges of the U.S. Air Force Academy.

The blaze, fanned by hot winds, has charred a number of homes on the wooded edges of the city and was prompting fresh evacuations on Wednesday.

President Barack Obama plans to travel to the area on Friday to view the damage. But in the chaos of the fire's advance, officials could not say exactly how many homes were lost or how many more people might join the ranks of the displaced.

Colorado Springs Fire Chief Rich Brown called the firestorm threatening his city - in a metropolitan area of more than 650,000 people - "a monster" and said at this point flames were "not even remotely close to being contained."

The fire, which has charred 15,517 acres in the shadow of the famed Pikes Peak mountaintop, was not as intense early on Wednesday as the day before, but would likely build up again as the temperature rises during the day, fire information officer Rob Deyerberg said.

The number of evacuees stood at 32,000 on Tuesday night, before some residents in Woodland Park, population 7,600, and surrounding areas were also told to leave their homes, Deyerberg said. He could not provide a total number of evacuees.

"The evacuation area is expanding as a precaution," he said.

The blaze left an orange hue over Colorado Springs and the smell of smoke permeated the air. A spot fire hit on a vacant, southwest corner of the grounds of the Air Force Academy, which continues to operate but is closed to visitors, officials said.

Colorado wildfires have killed four people this year, but no serious injuries from the Waldo Fire were reported on Wednesday.

"This is the worst fire season in the history of Colorado," Governor John Hickenlooper told a news conference on Tuesday, after he flew into Colorado Springs to tour the fire zone.

The Air Force Academy said the evacuation zone included two communities of single-family homes on its grounds housing around 2,100 civilian and military personnel and their families.

Despite the blaze, the academy will welcome a class of over 1,000 new cadets on Thursday, he said.

Over half of the federal government's firefighting resources are deployed in Colorado, the White House said.

COLUMNS OF EVACUEES

At a gas station in Colorado Springs, Andrew Heintzelman, 34, said he had been on the roof of his home in the nearby community of Mountain Shadows on Tuesday trying to keep the flames at bay but had since been forced to flee.

"I was spraying the hose on the shingles and the cops came through the neighborhood and told me to get out now," said Heintzelman, 34, who lives with his mother.

Thunderstorms in the area were expected to hurt firefighting efforts by causing erratic winds, which could shift from one direction to the next, fire officials said.

"All that kind of squirrelly behavior makes it really unsafe for anyone to be in or around the fire," fire information officer Anne Rys-Sikora said.

Household pets in the area were also forced into shelter due to the approaching flames. The Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region in recent days has taken in 252 animals, most of them dogs and cats but with everything from rats to a turtle in the mix, said Erica Meyer, a spokeswoman for the group.

Many horses were taken to the Norris Penrose Event Center in Colorado Springs, said Brenda Vawter, who works at the Colorado Equine Veterinary Services clinic.

Wildfires also were burning in other parts of Colorado - where the High Park fire has consumed 87,250 acres but was 65 percent contained - and in Utah and Montana on Wednesday.

A wildfire in Montana that has scorched 19,000 acres in the eastern part of the state has forced 600 residents to leave their homes, said Kent Atwood, a state hazard mitigation officer. An unknown number of houses were destroyed in Montana.

In Utah, authorities found a body in the ashes of the fast-moving Wood Hollow Fire about 100 miles south of Salt Lake City on Tuesday, marking the first fatality in a blaze that has scorched more than 46,190 acres of rolling hills covered by parched cheatgrass and sagebrush.

Colorado accounts for several of the 29 large active wildfires being fought across the country. The bulk of them were in seven western states - Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, Montana, New Mexico, Arizona and California - according to the National Interagency Fire Center in Boise, Idaho.

Although federal authorities say the fire season got off to an early start in parts of the northern Rockies, the number of fires and acreage burned nationwide is still below the 10-year average for this time of year, according to fire agency records.

Ephron majored in political science at Wellesley College but also wrote for the school paper, graduating in 1962. She interned at the White House during John F. Kennedy's administration and later became a reporter at the New York Post ? eventually gaining praise for inserting her own voice into her work as part of the "New Journalism" movement.

Her 1983 novel "Heartburn" ? which was later made into a film starring Meryl ?Streep and Jack Nicholson ? was inspired by her second marriage to famed Washington Post journalist Carl Bernstein (who helped break the Watergate story). Ephron is survived by her husband Nicholas Pileggi (writer of "Goodfellas") and two sons, Jacob and Max Bernstein.

Some actors appeared in Ephron-penned films multiple times:? Meryl Streep appeared in "Silkwood," "Heartburn" and "Julie & Julia"; Tom Hanks starred in "Sleepless in Seattle" and "You've Got Mail" as did Meg Ryan ? who also starred in "When Harry Met Sally."

Qualcomm to deliver Snapdragon SDK to Android developers

Qualcomm to deliver Snapdragon SDK to Android developersAt this year's Uplinq conference, Qualcomm hit Android developers with some exciting news. In the coming months, the chip maker will deliver a Snapdragon software development kit (SDK) that will provide devs with access to the "next-generation technology and features" embedded in its processors. Through APIs, the kit will allow application architects to leverage facial processing, burst camera capture, surround sound recording, echo cancellation, sensor gestures, low power geofencing and indoor location capabilities. Initially, the SDK will only be available for the S4 8960 wafer, but Qualcomm hopes to include more models over time. Head past the break to have a gander at the full press release.

Biological switch paves way for improved biofuel production

ScienceDaily (June 25, 2012) ? Scientists from Queen Mary, University of London have discovered a mechanism that controls the way that organisms breathe or photosynthesize, potentially paving the way for improved biofuel production.

Writing in the journal PNAS, Dr Lu-ning Lu and Professor Conrad Mullineaux from Queen Mary's School of Biological and Chemical Sciences report that by exposing cells to different light conditions, they have changed the way in which electrons are transported.

Professor Mullineaux explains: "Any organism that breathes or photosynthesizes depends on tiny electrical circuits operating within biological membranes. We are trying to find out what controls these circuits: what makes the electrons take the routes that they do, and what switches are available to send the electrons to other destinations?"

Cyanobacteria are a kind of bacterium that both breathes and photosynthesizes and therefore has a complicated set of different possible electron transport pathways.

The team put specific fluorescent tags on some of the protein components involved in electron transport, and then viewed the live cells with a fluorescence microscope to see where those complexes are in the cell.

By studying the cells in this way, the team visualized a biological electrical switch in action. When they changed the conditions (for example by making the light brighter or dimmer), the cell responded by changing the position of the complexes, which leads to major changes in the pathways of electron transport.

Full understanding of these mechanisms could help with re-engineering of cyanobacteria for improved solar-powered biofuel production, for example.

Exercise, even mild physical activity, may reduce breast cancer risk

Exercise, even mild physical activity, may reduce breast cancer risk [ Back to EurekAlert! ] Public release date: 25-Jun-2012

A new analysis done by University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill researchers has found that physical activity either mild or intense and before or after menopause may reduce breast cancer risk, but substantial weight gain may negate these benefits.

Published early online in Cancer, a peer-reviewed journal of the American Cancer Society, the findings indicate that women can reduce their breast cancer risk by exercising and maintaining their weight.

While studies have shown that physical activity reduces breast cancer risk, many questions remain. For example, how often, how long and how intense does physical activity have to be to provide benefits? Also, do women with all body types experience a reduced risk when they exercise, and does exercise reduce the risk of all types of breast cancer?

To investigate, Lauren McCullough, a doctoral candidate at the UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health, and her colleagues looked for a link between recreational physical activity, done at different time points in life, and the risk of developing breast cancer.

The study included 1,504 women with breast cancer (233 noninvasive and 1,271 invasive) and 1,555 women without breast cancer who were 20 to 98 years old and were part of the Long Island Breast Cancer Study Project, an investigation of possible environmental causes of breast cancer.

Women who exercised either during their reproductive or postmenopausal years had a reduced risk of developing breast cancer. Women who exercised 10 to 19 hours per week experienced the greatest benefit with an approximate 30 percent reduced risk. Risk reductions were observed at all levels of intensity, and exercise seemed to reduce the risk of hormone receptor positive breast cancers, the most commonly diagnosed tumor type among American women.

"The observation of a reduced risk of breast cancer for women who engaged in exercise after menopause is particularly encouraging given the late age of onset for breast cancer," McCullough said.

When the researchers looked at the joint effects of physical activity, weight gain and body size, they found that even active women who gained a significant amount of weight particularly after menopause had an increased risk of developing breast cancer, indicating that weight gain can eliminate the beneficial effects of exercise on breast cancer risk.

The Marshall Reddick BlogSolo 401(k) ? The Ultimate Retirement ...

A Solo 401(k) Plan is designed for the self-employed and offers powerful features that are not found in conventional IRA or 401(k) plans.? It is a flexible and tax efficient retirement solution that will open up a world of investment opportunity with unlimited potential.? You can use your retirement account to invest in Real Estate, Notes, Tax Deeds, Tax Liens and much more.?

The Solo 401(k) plan is unique and becoming very popular because it is designed explicitly for small business owners. It?s a tax efficient and cost effective plan that offers all the benefits of a Self-Directed IRA plan but includes additional benefits.

Checkbook Control without Custodian Fees:

In a Solo 401(k) Plan, you serve as trustee of the Plan which gives you ?checkbook control? over the Plan?s assets.? Making an investment with a Solo 401(k) Plan is as easy as writing a check, meaning that ?you do not have to hire a bank or trust company to serve as trustee. All assets of the Solo 401(k) trust are under the sole authority of the Solo 401(k) participant, eliminating the expenses and delays associated with an IRA custodian and enabling you to act quickly when the right investment opportunity presents itself.

High Contribution Limits:

While an IRA only allows a $5,000/yr. contribution limit ($6,000 for those over age 50), the Solo 401(k) annual contribution limits are significantly higher, up to $55,500/yr. That?s nearly 10 times more compared to an IRA!? Also, if your spouse generates compensation from the business, he or she can make contributions to the Plan.

Flexibility:

While you have the option to shelter a large portion of your income, contributions to a Solo 401(k) plan are completely discretionary. You have the option of contributing as much as legally possible, but you also have the option of reducing or even suspending plan contributions if necessary. In other words, you have the ability to make contributions to your Solo 401(k) Plan but are not required to do so.

Roth Sub-Account:

With an IRAs, those who earn high incomes are disallowed from contributing to a Roth IRA.? The Solo 401(k) plan contains a built-in Roth Sub-Account which gives you the ability to make Roth type contributions (after tax) significantly greater than with an IRA, without any income restrictions (for 2012 Roth Solo 401(k) maximum contribution is $22,500). ??This allows you to grow your investments tax-free!

Loan Feature:

While an IRA offers no participant loan feature, the Solo 401(k) allows participants to borrow up to $50,000 or 50% of their account value (whichever is less). This offers a Solo 401(k) Plan participant the ability to access up to $50,000 for any purpose, including paying personal debt, funding a business, or investing in real estate.

Exempt from UDFI:

When an IRA buys real estate that is leveraged with mortgage financing, it creates Unrelated Debt Financed Income (?UDFI?) ? a type of Unrelated Business Taxable Income (also known as ?UBTI?) in which taxes must be paid. The UBTI tax is approximately 35%. ?With a Solo 401(k) plan, you can use leverage without being subject to the UDFI rules and UBTI tax. This exemption provides significant tax advantages for using a Solo 401(k) Plan versus an IRA to purchase leveraged real estate.

Cost Effective Administration:

Generally, Solo 401(k) plans are easy to operate. There is no annual filing requirement unless your Solo 401(k) plan exceeds $250,000 in assets, in which case you will need to file a short information return with the IRS (Form 5500-EZ).

Google Celebrates Alan Turing with a Turing Machine Doodle

Alan Turing is being honored with a Google doodle this weekend on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the birth of the pioneering British computer scientist and father of artificial intelligence.

Turing (June 23, 1912-June 7, 1954) worked as a code breaker during World War II, heading the team tasked with cracking German naval codes at Britain's Government Code and Cypher School (GCCS). Prior to the war while a student at Cambridge, he developed his famous "Turing machine," a variation of which is depicted in Google's animated Turing doodle below.

A Turing machine is not an actual computer but rather a hypothetical one that still serves as a fundamental tool for understanding how algorithms, computer programming, and computing itself works. Turing described his conceptual computer, which he referred to as a Logical Computing Machine, in his 1948 essay "Intelligent Machinery" as having:

"...an unlimited memory capacity obtained in the form of an infinite tape marked out into squares, on each of which a symbol could be printed. At any moment there is one symbol in the machine; it is called the scanned symbol. The machine can alter the scanned symbol and its behavior is in part determined by that symbol, but the symbols on the tape elsewhere do not affect the behavior of the machine. However, the tape can be moved back and forth through the machine, this being one of the elementary operations of the machine. Any symbol on the tape may therefore eventually have an innings."

Turing Doodle

Turing did help design and build functional computational machines in the 1940s and 50s, including groundbreaking experimental computers like the Automatic Computing Engine (ACE) while working at Britain's National Physical Laboratory and the Manchester machines at the Royal Society Computing Machine Laboratory run by the famous mathematician and code breaker Max Newman at Manchester University.

But he is most famous today for the "Turing test." This proposed method for determining if a machine can "think" is considered the basis of the science of artificial intelligence.

There is actually some controversy over how Turing proposed to test machines for intelligence in his 1950 essay "Computing Machinery and Intelligence." In the essay, Turing describes question-and-answer games that involve a "blind" player interrogating two other players, one a human and one a computer, to try to determine the gender of each. In different versions of the game, the players attempt to either trick or assist the interrogator in making his or her final determination of gender.

Turing proposes that if the interrogator is as often right (or wrong) about the computer's gender as the human's, then the computer can be described as "intelligent." However, Turing tests have evolved into a form used today known as the standard Turing test where the interrogator is attempting to simply determine which of the two players being questioned is a human and which is a computer?a formulation of the game that some argue Turing intended while others believe he did not.

The annual Loebner Prize competition, initiated in 1990 by the American inventor Hugh Loebner, uses a standard Turing test on computer programs entered in the contest to determine which is the most human-like.

Turing was gay during a time when homosexuality was persecuted under the law in the U.K. He was convicted of illegal homosexual acts in 1952 and forced to undergo chemical castration treatment to avoid a prison term.

His death by cyanide poisoning just a few weeks before his 42nd birthday was ruled a suicide at the time, though some believe it may have been accidental. In 2009, the British government formally apologized for the persecution of Turing.

For more on Google's doodles, meanwhile, see the slideshow below. Recently, the company has honored Robert Moog, considered by many to be a pioneer in the electronic music space, as well as artist Keith Haring, zipper pioneer Gideon Sundback, Howard Carter, a British archaeologist best known for uncovering the tomb of King Tutankhamen in Egypt, and Peter Carl Faberg?, the famed jeweler and goldsmith to the Russian Imperial Court.

(AP) ? Raul Ibanez tied the game with a three-run homer, pinch-hitter Eric Chavez came through with a go-ahead shot moments later and the New York Yankees rallied past the New York Mets 4-3 Saturday night to stop a three-game skid.

Riding the long ball again, the Yankees won for the fourth time in five Subway Series matchups this season. The finale is quite an attraction, too, with knuckleballer R.A. Dickey coming off consecutive one-hitters when he faces Yankees ace CC Sabathia in a much-anticipated duel Sunday night.

Daniel Murphy, who hasn't homered all season, nearly won this one for the Mets in the ninth inning. With a runner aboard, he hit a deep drive into the right-field corner that was caught just in front of the fence for the final out.

The seventh-inning homers by Ibanez and Chavez helped the Yankees overcome a three-run deficit against Chris Young. They also bailed out right-hander Ivan Nova, who won his previous five starts but left down 3-0 in the sixth.

Kirk Nieuwenhuis homered for the Mets, who had won seven straight interleague games and four in a row overall. He also struck out his last three times up to strand five runners ? three in scoring position.

Lucas Duda had a key miscue in right field and then squandered two chances at the plate to get the Mets back in the game. They left 11 runners on overall, six in scoring position, before a sellout crowd of 42,122 ? the largest in the four-year history of Citi Field.

Clay Rapada (2-0) fanned Nieuwenhuis with two on in the sixth, and Boone Logan pitched out of trouble in the seventh. David Robertson worked around a pair of one-out walks in the eighth, fanning Nieuwenhuis to end the inning, and Rafael Soriano got three outs for his 14th save in 15 chances.

Making his fourth major league start since returning from shoulder surgery, Young cruised into the seventh with a 3-0 lead. But it all unraveled in a span of nine pitches.

Mark Teixeira, who is 0 for 8 against the right-hander, worked out a leadoff walk, and Nick Swisher took a hefty cut that produced only a soft fly to medium right field. Duda, still learning the intricacies of outfield play, broke back on the ball and then charged in. He came up short on a diving attempt, and the ball bounced past him for a double, Swisher's 1,000th career hit.

Ibanez lined the next pitch barely over the fence in the right-field corner for his 11th homer, tying the score at 3.

That was it for Young, who had an RBI single in the sixth. One out later, Chavez sliced an 0-2 pitch from Jon Rauch (3-7) into the left-field corner for his first career pinch-hit homer and the Yankees' second of the season.

Struggling with runners in scoring position all season, the homer-happy Yankees have beaten the Mets with the long ball. They have 13 home runs against their crosstown rivals this season, accounting for 20 of their 26 runs. The Bronx Bombers lead the majors with 110 homers in 70 games, including 32 in the last 18 games.

The Mets had a great chance to tie it in the seventh. But with a runner on third, Logan whiffed Duda on three pitches and made another left-handed hitter, Murphy, look bad on an inning-ending strikeout.

Nova, who is 12-0 in his last 16 road starts, allowed three runs ? two earned ? and five hits in 5 2-3 innings. He gave up two runs in his previous three starts covering 22 2-3 innings.

NOTES: Mets LF Jason Bay (concussion) was in the clubhouse before the game and said he hopes to be back after the All-Star break, though there is no timetable for his return. "He's still got some discomfort in his shoulders and some other things that are still feeling the brunt of the collision with the wall, but the fact that his head feels better, that the headaches and the dizziness are going away ? those are great signs," manager Terry Collins said. "I know our medical team will take this slow and hopefully get him back as soon as we possibly can." ... Mets 1B Ike Davis was scratched from the lineup about 90 minutes before the first pitch because of possible food poisoning. ... Collins wants SS Ruben Tejada (strained right quadriceps) to play a few more rehab games at Triple-A Buffalo before returning. "I want to make sure his legs get in really good shape before he's back here," the manager said. Tejada has been on the DL since May 7. ... Yankees manager Joe Girardi said the team has no plans to bring in a knuckleballer to throw batting practice Sunday in preparation for Dickey. ... Yankees C Russell Martin was pulled in the ninth with a stiff back. ... The Yankees and Indians are the only teams that haven't lost four straight games this season.

How to generate word document in windows server 2003?

I had written a function to generate a word document by using the Office Interop Word object. My code is as shown below. It is working fine in my local system. But when i try to run it from window server 2003 it is not working. It keeps loading at Word.Document wordDoc = wordApp.Documents.Open and doesn't do anything.
