PredictGaze's Recognition Abilities Will Make Electronic Devices ...

Consumer electronics will accomplish more than ever before when fitted with PredictGaze vision control platform software. For example, a smart TV will pause when it recognizes that no one is watching.

PredictGaze uses gesture control and facial recognition to control devices containing a digital camera or webcam. Other applications of this software include distinguishing emotions and gender, and tracking eye movement.

The four co-founders are Aakash Jain, Abhilekh Agarwal, Saurav Kumar and Ketan Banjara. They have pooled their expertise in machine learning, vision/image processing, gaming, scalable computing and autonomous computing to establish PredictGaze in Santa Clara, California.

?We enable regular consumer devices, such as smartphones, PCs, TVs and also cars, to recognize people, the gestures they make and their eye movements,? Banjara told RESCUECOM. ?In a sense, we take one more step to make the devices truly smart. You don?t need a remote to, for example, pause?your TV, mute the volume or change channels. To mute it, all you need to do is the Shh gesture (put your finger to your lips).?

?With its ability to recognize age, parental control becomes easy,? he continued. ?Also, because it can recognize its viewers, the TV can personalize the experience ? person 1 likes sci-fi movies, person 2 likes children?s shows and when person 1 and person 3 watch together they prefer romantic movies, etc.?

PredictGaze enhances driving safety. A car will recognize the different drivers and customize seat, mirror and temperature settings, etc., for each one. ?Also, if you seem to be falling asleep while driving, or if you seem to be not paying enough attention to the road, it can alert you,? Banjara stated. ?It can also send you an alert if it does not recognize the driver, or if the driver seems to be under age.?

If you are reading on a tablet, PredictGaze will know when you have finished the page and will scroll down further. Just look at a button on a page to click it.

Even electronic devices made smart by PredictGaze technology cannot repair themselves. Rely on computer experts, such as RESCUECOM, for computer repair or Internet security issues.

Privacy is always a concern with this type of technology. PredictGaze says that it does not collect personally identifiable information. ?All processing is done locally on the device in real-time and we do not capture, store or transmit images,? Banjara noted.

PredictGaze is working on getting its technology into consumer devices, according to Banjara, but is not yet ready to make any announcements.

Stay Productive When Everything's Bad - Business Insider

Hate and fear make for bad business strategies.

Sadly, most of us figure that out too late.

Our lives are easily distracted by another people?s nonsense.

Our families are dysfunctional from time to time. Our employers create unnecessary stress for us. Internally we wrestle with unfulfilled goals and aspirations that we want for ourselves.

It doesn?t take much for all of that frustration to bubble up to the surface.

And usually it happens in ways that make us less productive. Less effective.

So it is more important than ever to protect what we allow ourselves to think about. ?What we allow to mess with our emotions.

Here are some ways to do that:

  1. Stop listening to biased talk radio and TV programs. ? ?They are in the business of entertaining you with outrageous ideas. They win by creating panic, chaos, and hysteria. ?But you lose. Because you?re distracted from what really matters.
  2. Be purposeful about your daily schedule. Put important things on your calendar and get them done. Take things that don?t matter off your calendar. Don?t just float from meeting to meeting. Have a plan for how you spend each moment of your business day. Usually, fear and panic creep in when you have nothing else to think about.
  3. Find ways to let out your frustration each day. Go running. Go to the gym. Get involved in something that demands physical exercise. There is something purging ?(and healing)?about working out your problems through a little sweat and tears.
  4. Ask for help quickly. If you truly think you are getting wronged or afraid of what you think you see, ask someone you trust to help you look at the situation. Get a new perspective. Remember, all the mental baggage from your past is influencing how you view circumstances right now.
  5. Take a deep breath. Literally. Don?t make decisions when you feel yourself getting angry or annoyed. The decisions you make will usually be bad ones. Horrible ones, in fact, that come back to haunt you in the future. Train yourself to slow down and not to do anything rash.

There are always??good??excuses why life is unfair to you. Why you??always seem??to get the short end of the stick.

The truth is that life is what you make it.

You can make excuses and pretend like it?s everyone else?s fault. ?Or you can take matters into your own hands and figure things out.

The government, your boss, other family member ? they can?t hurt you if you don?t let them. They can?t stop you if you don?t let their nonsense into your head.

Another already with the excuses. Enough already with the blame and the drama and the hysteria.

It?s time for us to grow up. It?s time for us to stand up for what we believe is important. ?It is silly to allow others to fill our minds with fear and doubt, chaos and hysteria.

Today is an opportunity to think about what is right with the world.
