PredictGaze's Recognition Abilities Will Make Electronic Devices ...

Consumer electronics will accomplish more than ever before when fitted with PredictGaze vision control platform software. For example, a smart TV will pause when it recognizes that no one is watching.

PredictGaze uses gesture control and facial recognition to control devices containing a digital camera or webcam. Other applications of this software include distinguishing emotions and gender, and tracking eye movement.

The four co-founders are Aakash Jain, Abhilekh Agarwal, Saurav Kumar and Ketan Banjara. They have pooled their expertise in machine learning, vision/image processing, gaming, scalable computing and autonomous computing to establish PredictGaze in Santa Clara, California.

?We enable regular consumer devices, such as smartphones, PCs, TVs and also cars, to recognize people, the gestures they make and their eye movements,? Banjara told RESCUECOM. ?In a sense, we take one more step to make the devices truly smart. You don?t need a remote to, for example, pause?your TV, mute the volume or change channels. To mute it, all you need to do is the Shh gesture (put your finger to your lips).?

?With its ability to recognize age, parental control becomes easy,? he continued. ?Also, because it can recognize its viewers, the TV can personalize the experience ? person 1 likes sci-fi movies, person 2 likes children?s shows and when person 1 and person 3 watch together they prefer romantic movies, etc.?

PredictGaze enhances driving safety. A car will recognize the different drivers and customize seat, mirror and temperature settings, etc., for each one. ?Also, if you seem to be falling asleep while driving, or if you seem to be not paying enough attention to the road, it can alert you,? Banjara stated. ?It can also send you an alert if it does not recognize the driver, or if the driver seems to be under age.?

If you are reading on a tablet, PredictGaze will know when you have finished the page and will scroll down further. Just look at a button on a page to click it.

Even electronic devices made smart by PredictGaze technology cannot repair themselves. Rely on computer experts, such as RESCUECOM, for computer repair or Internet security issues.

Privacy is always a concern with this type of technology. PredictGaze says that it does not collect personally identifiable information. ?All processing is done locally on the device in real-time and we do not capture, store or transmit images,? Banjara noted.

PredictGaze is working on getting its technology into consumer devices, according to Banjara, but is not yet ready to make any announcements.
