Lani Mercado: No wedding plans yet for Jolo, Jodi

CAVITE Representatives Lani Mercado-Revilla denied that her son Jolo Revilla and actress Jodi Sta. Maria are planning to get married soon.

The actress-turned-lawmaker clarified in a recent interview that the rumored couple didn't approached her and her husband, Senator Bong Revilla, to seek parental blessing.

"Wala pa namang ganoon na nagaganap. Wala pa naman nababalita na ganoong nangyayari. Sa tingin ko pino-pursue muna niya yung dream niya na maging public servant at siguro career muna ang iniisip nila parehas. Give them time," she said.

Lani said both Jolo and Jodi are now busy with their respective careers and they still have lots of things to do. "May mga hinihintay pa sila. Alam mo naman ang pagse-settle down timing din yan," she said.

Jodi is still married to her estranged husband Pampi Lacson, the son of Senator Panfilo Lacson.

Lani said that as long as her son is happy, they will support him in whatever thing Jolo wishes to pursue.

"Basta mahal ng anak ko, at nagkakasundo at nagkakatulungan sila, wala naman akong hadlang. Basta they complement each other. Basta nakikita kong masaya ang anak ko," she said.

Jolo who is a village official in Cavite is running for the vice gubernatorial post in the province in the May 2013 elections.

"Naa-amaze ako sa kanya on how he handles things in the province. He's managing his time well. Pangarap na niya yan noon pa. Kahit nung nangangampanya siya for my brother-in-law, kay Bong," Lani said.

"May kakaiba siyang diskarte, may iba siyang gimmick sa pangangampanya. Iba din talaga yung karisma niya sa ibang tao. Namana niya yan kay Sen. Bong," she added.

Lani said the whole Revilla family will celebrate Christmas together and will also show their support for Senator Bong's Metro Manila Film Festival entry with Vic Sotto and Judy Ann Santos entitled "Si Agimat, Si Enteng Kabisote, at Si Ako," which opens on December 25. (Sunnex)
