The number one rule in personal finance is that it?s personal. What works for me may not work for you, and vice versa. If you?re seeking advice on a tough situation, ask for it. If you?ve committed a cardinal sin of personal finance and need to get it off your chest, well then confess away. Take ownership of your decisions. How does that relate to the honey badger, you ask?
We could all use a little more honey badger in our lives, couldn?t we? Honey badger don?t care. Honey badger don?t give a shit, he just takes what he wants. When there?s a king cobra up in a tree, honey badger doesn?t think about how his goal of eating that tasty cobra for dinner is unattainable, he scrambles right up that tree and takes that cobra DOWN!
When the honey badger?s hungry for (what else?) honey, does he see all the bees in the hive as insurmountable obstacles capable of stinging him thousands of times? No, he digs down into that hive and eats what he wants.
What I?m saying is, whatever your number one financial goal right now is, go after it like the honey badger. Don?t let anyone or anything get in the way of you achieving that goal. You might get stung, and if you do, take a deep breath (and maybe a nap) and get right back to it.
If you have naysayers, shut them down. Be the badass you know you can be, because nobody gets to live your life but you.
